GIIS KL launches successful Recycling Drive: Students Champion Sustainability

In a remarkable effort to promote environmental awareness and responsible waste management, GIIS KL launched a Recycling Drive in February. The initiative aimed to encourage students to donate and recycle their old stationery, fostering a culture of sustainability within the school community.

To spread awareness, colorful posters were displayed around the school, and teachers played a crucial role in motivating students to contribute. The response was overwhelmingly positive, exceeding expectations. Within a month, students enthusiastically participated in the drive, demonstrating a strong commitment to making a difference.

One of the highlights of the campaign was the class-wise collection system, which added a friendly competitive spirit to the initiative. The participating classes—Grades 1–3, 10, and 12—competed to collect the highest amount of recyclable stationery, with the winning class set to receive a special reward.

Among the standout contributors was Harinimal from Class 10A, who generously donated five sets of pencils, crayons, and erasers. His inspiring gesture showcased the collective dedication of the students towards environmental sustainability.

The success of this recycling drive reflects school’s ongoing commitment to fostering eco-consciousness among students. By actively engaging in such initiatives, students are not only reducing waste but also learning the importance of sustainability and environmental stewardship.
